Earning Non-Profit Status

Before helping you establish a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, we will help you determine if incorporating as a non-profit meets your needs. If so, we will facilitate the incorporation and tax-exempt determination process. This process may take up to six months.

Unlike other companies, if you choose Assist, you will be assigned one of our expert consultants who will work closely with you. The Assist staff member can provide essential advice for every step, including board development and program and organizational design. In addition to our commitment to excellent customer service, if you choose Assist to prepare your application for federal tax-exemption, we will also write a five to six page narrative that outlines your organization. This narrative, written by our talented grant writers, may be used as a template for a business plan or for future grant submissions.

Contact us to set up your initial 30-minute consultation. The fee for this is only $35 and will provide you with an instant evaluation of your current status and the steps necessary to fulfill your nonprofit dreams.

Program Development

Assist will help develop programs based on your organization's mission, vision, and community needs. Assist also will create systems that ensure grant compliance and cost-effective program management. Systems may include re-engineering work flow, paper flow, and service flow.

Planning and Evaluation

Assist will evaluate programs based on organization's policies and procedures and grant program guidelines. Assist sets forth guidelines used to monitor and evaluate ongoing course activities and the impact of programs on key endpoints. These guidelines are designed to meet the organization's evaluation requirements and are necessary to measure the quality, process and outcome objectives for programs Assist can either conduct the program evaluation or develop an evaluation system for the organization to self-monitor.

Quality Assurance Planning

Assist will develop audit tools to ensure program compliance. Assist first will identify what criteria will be used to determine quality of services. We also will recommend members within the organization to be on the quality assurance committee. Next, we will define and develop roles and a quality assurance plan. The plan will include how many times the quality assurance committee will meet, audit criteria, timeline, what to do in case audit findings are below threshold (corrective action planning), how data will be compiled and analyzed, and what audit tools to use. Assist then will facilitate initial quality assurance meetings and adopt rules of order.

Strategic Planning

Through strategic planning activities, Assist can support your organization in framing program goals, defining indicators of success, and promoting sound budget decisions. Strategic planning activities may include but are not limited to conducting SWOT analysis, community needs survey, employee assessments, and organizational assessments. With this information, Assist will work closely with senior management and board members to help develop a five-year strategic plan for the organization. We will assist your organization in defining a clear destination and direction, charting a course, and creating the focus required to achieve your goal. The strategic planning project goals and benefits include:

  • Setting organizational goals
  • Developing a specific, detailed plan for achieving these goals
  • Enhancing teamwork

Assist can aid the organization in implementing the strategic planning process by determining readiness, direction, and action.
